The Double-Edged Sword of Stability

Think for a moment - to a time filled with financial instability, and life plans that have yet to come to fruition. "If only I had _____, my problems would subside." Money, a job, a lifetime goal - all of these accolades appear to fill that empty spot in our sentence. And lets be honest with ourselves, they probably will! But subsiding life's struggles with the comfortable bandage of stability has a dark side, and as you heal your external sorrows, the ever present infection under the skin starts to emerge. When life is comfortable and quiet, we are left to listen to the inner-workings of our own internal clock. We are forced to look inward and at the environment we have prepared with a keen eye. And when we reach this place after the thoughtless pursuit of a paycheck, the lack of fruit on our personal tree becomes apparent. "If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth only soft soap...
